Sunset Limitation @ Caticlan Airport

Cebu Pacific’s direct flight to Caticlan (either from Manila or Cebu) can be troublesome especially if you take the late afternoon flight. The chance of your flight being diverted to Kalibo International Airport increases substantially if you take any flight after 3pm.

The Caticlan Airport or Godofredo P. Ramos airport is not capable of nighttime landing. Most of the takeoff and landing are limited to the presence of sunlight. After 530pm (usually), the Caticlan Airport shutdown. "Sunset limitation" has been used too many times by Cebu pacific either to cancel or to divert flights to Kalibo airport. I am assuming other airlines that flies direct to Caticlan have use this excuse as well.

This is unacceptable! The "Sunset Limitation" excuse has been used too many times to the inconvenience of the Cebu pacific's customers. Personally, it happened to me twice and several times to my friends, instead of arriving in Boracay within 2 hours from Manila, we ended up wasting our time.

This is a big inconvenience for both local and foreign tourists who (normally) have paid more to have a direct access to Boracay. Although Cebu pacific makes an arrangement for free shuttle bus (sometime there are no arrangement) from Kalibo to Caticlan Jetty Port, the time lost which is usually 3-5 hours cannot be compensated especially for tourist who only have few days to spend in Boracay. Disclaimer should be put in-place so customers who choses to take a direct flight to Caticlan airport after 3pm, should be informed that the chances of the flight being diverted to Kalibo airport or flight being cancelled is much higher (or almost sure ball?).
