A Kelong near Pulau Ubin
Normally made of wooden houses on sticks and/or floaters, few remain in the northeast part of Singapore. One can explore these Kelong (Kellongs) offshore between Singapore northeast side and Pulau Ubin. Boats at Changi Ferry Terminal are available for special trips to these Kelongs.
Kelong near Pasir Ris
Some Singaporean families call these Kelongs their official residence. They are all accounted for and have been assigned numbers. One can spend time fishing in this platform and observe net fishing.
Kelong served as a dwelling place for fisherman.
Aside from Singapore, Kelongs can also be seen in the waters of the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.
