From Kuta to Ubud, with Motorbike

Now that Cebu Pacific Air has introduced a direct flight from Manila to Bali, more of my countrymen will get to explore the island of Bali, at least with cheaper flights. Although the beaches are not exactly as good as what we have in the Philippines, the countryside and the mountainous trail of Bali is a delight to see. I recommend that you hire a motorbike and explore the whole island. It’s over 140 km from east to west and more than 75 km from north to south.

It was a hot day in September, I used my IPhone map to help me navigate, luckily it work well and I didn't get lost in the wilderness (if you know what I mean).  It was a memorable drive especially as you go closer to Ubud. The wooden furniture and carving reminded me of Paete, a small town in the province of Laguna.

Motorbike is a nicer way to see Bali, that is if you want to rough it on your travels.

Have fun in Ubud, it’s the cultural center of Bali.
